South Korean auto-maker Hyundai has released the first sketch images of its upcoming Elite i20 based crossover i20 Active, not long after the completely revealing spy shots of the vehicle emerged online.
Hyundai also confirmed that the new i20 Active crossover will make its India debut in March. Based on the 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language, the new i20 Active has been styled and designed at Hyundai Motor's Design Centre in Russelsheim, Germany, reported NDTV.
The car, which has been spied in the country numerous times with the latest one being undisguised, is expected to get plastic-cladding, roof-railing and side-body cladding. From a visual stand point, the front facia of the new i20 Active is likely to get new front grille with projector headlamps daytime running lights LED and fog lights and new front grille. At the back, the i20 Active is likely to flaunt new bumper with circular reflectors, roof spoiler, plastic claddings and new i20 Active badge.
The powerplant of the vehicle is question is yet to be known. However, the rumours on the web indicate the current Elite i20's 1.2 litre petrol engine and 1.4 litre CRDi diesel motor.
The petrol engine of Elite i20 has the capacity to churn out 83PS power and a peak torque of 114Nm and the diesel motor generates 90PS power and a peak torque of 220Nm. The transmission is likely to come from 5-speed manual transmission for petrol and 6-speed manual gearbox for diesel.
Hyundai i20 Active will be squared off against Toyota Etios Cross, Fiat Avventura and Volkswagen Polo Cross in the crossover segment is likely to get a price tag in the range of ₹6-8 lakh.
