Hyundai ix25 Compact SUV Spied Testing Again, to Launch during Festive Season; Price, Feature Details [PHOTOS]

South Korean auto maker Hyundai has already announced its line-up for 2015 and auto enthusiasts have been seeing these models being tested on Indian roads for quite some time. The latest batch of spy shots show Hyundai's new compact SUV ix25 undergoing testing in Karnataka.

The folks at TeamBHP managed to get the new spy shots and the interesting bit is that the upcoming SUV was seen doing the rounds along with rival Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster. It seems like Duster and EcoSport were used for the purpose of benchmarking. Going by the words of the original publisher of the spy shots, the upcoming ix25 SUV looks bigger than EcoSport.

Auto enthusiasts know that ix25 is already being sold in a few markets like China. Although it is not clear if the same model will make its way to the Indian market, judging by the latest spy shots, the India-specific version of the SUV bears a strong resemblance to its international counterpart. The ix25 is expected to accommodate features like central console with audio controls, air con vents and climate controls in India. Rumour has it the that Indian-version of SUV could also get all-wheel drive.

In the international market, ix25 is sold with 1.6- and 2.0-litre petrol engines coupled to 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions with choices of front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Coming to the engine line-up of the Indian ix25, rumours suggest 1.6 litre petrol and diesel units.

ix25 is likely to make its debut in India during the festive season with a price tag between ₹8 lakh and ₹12 lakh. When launched, the model will compete with Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, Mahindra Scorpio and Nissan Terrano.
