Hyundai Motor India unveiled the design expressions of upcoming new global SUV – the all new Tucson. The new Tucson is scheduled for its launch in India on November 14.

"Tucson is a native American name, which portrays an image of a 'Strong Sun' lending a premium character with performance to the Brand," says the company. Tucson is the 1st SUV created with Hyundai Motor's new development philosophy of "Innovation of Fundamentals."

Based on Hyundai's next generation and evolved Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 (FS2.0) Design Philosophy, Tucson measures 4,475mm in length, 1,850mm in width and 1,645mm in height and comes with a wheelbase of 2,670mm.

The Tucson "Design expresses Hyundai's progressive spirit and passion. The All-New Tucson has a distinctive and athletic presence achieved through refined, flowing surfaces, bold proportions and sharp lines. The exterior of the Tucson reflects the 'Dynamic and Strong' SUV character complemented by 'Premium and Refined' interiors," said the company.

To be positioned between the Creta and Santa Fe in India, the Tucson is expected to get a price tag starting at Rs 18 lakh. It flaunts signature hexagonal front grille flanked by LED headlamps. The SUV is expected to feature electronic driving aids such as autonomous emergency braking system, lane keeping assist system, rear traffic cross alert, blind spot detection, speed limit information function and an active hood system. The latest generation of the SUV features leather upholstery for the seats and leather wrapping for the instrument panel and steering wheel. The India-spec version is also expected to get Android Auto feature, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and six airbags.

The powertrain of the upcoming Hyundai SUV is likely to include a 2.0-litre diesel engine that can churn out 180bhp and 400Nm of torque mated to six-speed manual transmission. The new Tucson is open for bookings in India.
