Hyundai i20 models have crossed a cumulative sale of 1 million units, the South Korean automobile major announced on Thursday, July 21. Hyundai has three models in its i20 line up — i20, Elite i20 and i20 Active.
Launched in India in 2008, the i20, which is still a favourite model of auto-lovers in the country, has got 367,146 takers in the domestic market and 389,889 in the export markets. The company introduced in 2014 the second generation avatar of the i20, dubbed the Elite i20. The premium hatchback, Elite i20, has registered a sale of 205,441 units in the Indian market and together with export of 16,603 units, contributed 222,044 units to the sales chart. The third in the line-up, the i20 Active, a crossover based on the i20, made its market entry in 2015. The company has so far sold 30,877 units of the i20 Active in India.

Hyundai is now expected to launch the automatic variant of the Elite i20 in India. The existing model of the Elite i20 gets 1.2 litre petrol engine and 1.4 litre CRDi diesel motor. Hyundai is also said to be working on the facelift version of its Elite i20 hatchback.
