Likely to be offered in four trims, i20 Active is expected to reach the showrooms with two interior colour options -- Tangerine Orange and Black and another Aqua Blue and Black. Under the hood, the model is likely to pack the same engine of small Elite i20 in the form of 1.2-liter petrol and 1.4-liter diesel.
The petrol engine of Elite i20 has the capacity to churn out 83PS power and a peak torque of 114Nm and the diesel motor generates 90PS power and a peak torque of 220Nm. As for transmission, 5-speed manual transmission for petrol and a 6-speed manual gearbox for diesel engine have been rumoured.
Designed at Hyundai Motor's Design Centre in Russelsheim, Germany, new i20 Active crossover will accommodate new front fascia with projector headlamps, daytime running lights LED and fog lights.
When launched, the new entrant in the crossover segment will be pitched against Toyota Etios Cross, Fiat Avventura and Volkswagen Polo Cross and if rumours have their say, the i20 Active will see a price tag in the range of ₹6-8 lakh.
Although there are no reports of bookings of i20 Active yet, the company is likely to open bookings soon.
