Just a few days stand between Indian auto enthusiasts and the all-new i20 Active crossover. Days ahead of its arrival in the market, spy photographers have managed to bring another set of spy shots of i20 Active, this time revealing the interiors of the model completely.
Caught on camera by the carparazzi of IndianAutosBlog, the interiors of the i20 Active show a number of new elements, most notably, the colour scheme. Judging from the latest spy shots, it is quite clear that the new i20 Active will be hitting the roads with two interior colour options -- one Tangerine Orange and Black and another Aqua Blue and Black. Another change, which is immediately apparent, is the sport pedal.
Coming back to the cabin colours, while the Aqua Blue and Black cabin shows door insert of i20 Active and parts of dashboard in blue colour along with the matching upholstery, the second interiors of the model is chiefly dominated by black colour with orange inserts on the AC vents and seats.
Besides the interior modifications, new i20 Active also includes exterior changes like new front and rear bumpers, roof spoiler, plastic claddings and new i20 Active badge. The model, which has been styled and designed at Hyundai Motor's Design Centre in Russelsheim, Germany, will sport a new front fascia with projector headlamps, daytime running lights LED and fog lights and new front grille.
Power is likely to come from same engine like that of its younger sibling Elite i20. The petrol engine of Elite i20 has the capacity to churn out 83PS power and a peak torque of 114Nm and the diesel motor generates 90PS power and a peak torque of 220Nm. While the petrol engine is expected to get 5-speed manual transmission, the diesel is rumoured to come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The new Hyundai i20 Active, which is designed to rival Toyota Etios Cross, Fiat Avventura and Volkswagen Polo Cross, will officially set foot in India on 17 March and cities like Bangalore will see the launch on 18 March. The company is likely to open the booking soon for the new model which is expected to get a price tag of ₹6-8 lakh.
