Prices of Hyundai's cars in India are set to rise from August. The South Korean auto major has announced a hike of up to Rs 30,000, across its models in the country, citing rising input cost.
While the hike will be effective from 1 August, 2015 the prices of Hyundai's latest entrant in the market -- Creta SUV -- will not affected.
"We have been absorbing most of the costs but now we are constrained to consider the price increase in these challenging market environment," said Rakesh Srivastava, Senior Vice President – sales and marketing, Hyundai Motor India Ltd.
Creta, the latest entrant in the compact SUV segment has been priced in the range of Rs 8.59 lakh to Rs 13.60 lakh. Under the hood, Creta gets 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine, which can churn out 123PS and 151Nm of torque, 1.6 litre CRDI diesel engine that is tuned to pump out 128PS of power and 260Nm of torque and 1.4 litre CRDI diesel motor.
The 1.6 litre CRDI diesel mill of Creta comes mated to automatic transmission, while 6-speed manual gearbox takes care of the transmission in other petrol and diesel engines.
