It looks like Hyundai is planning to bring a face-lifted avatar of its popular hatchback, the Grand i10 in India soon. What comes as a solid evidence of this is a fresh batch of spy shots of the Grand i10 facelift that is doing the rounds on the internet.
While there have been plenty of rumours about the Grand i10 facelift, this is probably for the first time that the new avatar of the popular hatchback has been caught on camera. The Grand i10 facelift is believed to be undergoing testing in Chennai.
From the images shared by MotorVikatan, the test mule is seen in its partly camouflaged avatar, telling us that the key changes have been made to these covered parts. From the pictures, the size and dimensions of the face-lifted avatar of the Grand i10 seems to be the same as the current model and the design of the model also looks identical. However, expect the face-lifted Grand i10 to get styling updates such as revised front fascia and new rear bumper.
Inside the cabin too, the face-lifted Grand i10 could get feature updates including a new touchscreen infotainment system. The test mule is also spotted wearing new alloy rims.
From the word around the internet, the Grand i10 could carry over the same engine of the existing models. Currently, Hyundai Grand i10 petrol variant is powered by a 1.2-litre Kappa engine that can churn out 82bhp and 116 Nm. The diesel model of the vehicle houses a 1.1-litre three cylinder U2 VGT motor engine that delivers 70bhp power and 163 Nm of torque. There have been rumours of the Grand i10 getting automated manual transmission (AMT) variants. However, it is not sure if the new face-lifted model will get the same.
The Grand i10, the bestselling model of the company, was launched in India in 2013 and has managed to clock sizeable number consistently since then.
