The G90 luxury sedan of the newly formed Genesis brand of Hyundai has got an overwhelming response from the homeland of the manufacturer. According to reports from Korea, the G90 sedan which will be called as EQ900 in the domestic market garnered over 4,300 bookings within 24 hours. The sedan is yet to break the cover which is scheduled for 9 December. However, the car was spied undisguised last week and this seems to have boosted the bookings.
"Considering that this is a full-size luxury sedan offered at high price ranges, this has been an unbelievable sales performance," a spokesman of Hyundai Motor commented to Korea JoongAng Daily.
As the Genesis brand's flagship model, the G90 will sport a more unique and luxurious design. The sketch image released by the company confirms a large radiator grille combined with sophisticated headlamps up front.
The company has already stated that the G90 will boasts of world's best safety features and technological innovations to set itself apart in the luxury market. The new sedan is designed by prestige design division of Hyundai headed by Luc Donckerwolke.
Genesis, the standalone new brand of Hyundai which will have six new models in its line-up by 2020, will initially launch its models in the Korean, Chinese, North American and Middle Eastern luxury car markets. The brand will expand its reach to Europe and other parts of Asia once it has established itself in the luxury car market.
