South Korean carmaker Hyundai is working on a new marketing strategy to target the fleet market in India. The company has revealed that the previous models of the company will be launched for the commercial market in the country.
Speaking to CarandBike, Rakesh Srivastava, Director Marketing and Sales, Hyundai Motor India said that Hyundai will launch the fleet-exclusive models under prime series and the company already has two models--the Grand i10 Prime, Xcent Prime. Hyundai has recently launched the facelifted versions of the Grand i10 and Xcent in India, which will be available for private customers and the Prime versions, the pre-facelifted models will be sold for commercial purpose.
Hyundai Xcent currently sells around 4,500 units a month and the company hopes to sell 6,000 units a month, including Hyundai Xcent Prime with the arrival of the facelift model. Hyundai is likely to add more cars to its Prime series and the current Verna is also expected to join this line-up as it will get a new avatar later this year. Hyundai's Grand i10 Prime and Xcent Prime prices are yet to be revealed.
The Grand i10 Prime and Xcent Prime will be available with 1.1 litre U2 CRDi diesel engine. These cars in its new facelifted avatars have got new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder diesel engine, which will be available for private customers.
