Hyundai's next generation i20 is all set to make its India debut next week and the Korean auto maker has been busy putting the car through its final development testing.
It was just yesterday that Hyundai revealed that the next generation i20 will be called Elite i20 in the Indian auto market and the car will make its entry into the domestic market on 11 August. Now the car has been caught on test again before its official launch, this time revealing the interior of the new Elite i20.
In the latest set of spy shots posted by Rushlane, the new Elite i20 interior is seen in black-beige dual tone colour and the cabin styling of the vehicle looks similar to the company's successful Grand i10. As far as the interior features are concerned, the new elite i20 is likely to get climate control, keyless entry, steering-mounted audio controls, reverse camera, parking sensors and automatic day/night interior mirror.
The test mule is still seen camouflaged, concealing the key changes of the new model. Previous pictures have shown the hexagonal air-dam element flared head lamps and wrap-around tail lamps of the Elite i20. Once it hits the market, Elite i20 will be pinned to rival Maruti Suzuki Swift, Fiat Punto, Tata Bolt, Toyota Etios Liva and Ford Figo.
Hyundai is yet to offer any details on powertrains of the new Elite i20, although we can expect it to come from the same 1.4-litre diesel and 1.2-litre Kappa2 engines of its current model, which is likely to come mated to either a five-speed or a six-speed manual transmission in India. While the petrol engine is expected to churn out 83 bhp of power and 113 Nm of peak torque, the diesel engine might give 89 bhp of power and 219 Nm of torque.
The company has already disclosed the bookings details and the launch date of the vehicle in India and the dealers of Hyundai have commenced the bookings for Elite i20 ₹50,000, which is 100 percent refundable. While the pricing details of the new generation i20 is not known yet, it is expected to fall in ₹9 lakh-₹10 lakh price brackets.
