Hyundai is busy testing its new crossover Elite i20 Cross in India and the model has already been caught on camera dozens of times. Now, the crossover has been snapped testing in the country once again ahead of its March launch. But this time, we have discovered some more details about the model.
The folks at Motorbeam managed to get the latest spy shots. As usual, Elite i20 Cross is seen with heavy camouflage but a closer look at the picture will show a new alloy wheel pattern and LED daytime running lights.
Elite i20 Cross, a car based on Hyundai's Elite i20 hatchback, has been in the news for a while now. The model - expected to compete with Toyota Etios Cross, Fiat Avventura and Volkswagen Polo Cross in the Indian market - is likely to borrow the same engine as of its sibling Elite i20. The current Elite i20 packs 1.2 litre petrol engine and 1.4 litre CRDi diesel motor. The petrol engine is tuned to churn out 83PS power and a peak torque of 114Nm and the diesel motor capable of generating 90PS power and a peak torque of 220Nm.
However, the crossover of Elite i20 is rumoured to get upgraded suspension and increased ground clearance along with new features like plastic-cladding, roof-railing and side-body cladding.
From a visual stand point, Elite i20 cross will have many similarities with its hatchback sibling and is likely to get reworked front fascia with new projector headlight and restyled bumper. Inside the cabin, too, Hyundai is likely to give a makeover to the crossover.
When launched in March, Hyundai Elite i20 Cross is likely to be priced around ₹8 lakh.
