The festive season in India, which is usually from September to November, is quite rewarding even for auto manufacturers. For the current season, Renault came up with Duster Explore, Skoda has Rapid celebration edition, Maruti Suzuki brought Swift SP and Wagon R Avance. The latest to join the bandwagon is Hyundai India with the Elite i20 Celebration Edition.
Though the Celebration edition is yet to be launched, Autosarena snapped the pictures of the car inside out. The Celebration Edition is based on the Sportz trim and available in petrol and diesel engines. The report reveals that the 1.2-litre petrol unit is priced at Rs 6,69,166, while the 1.4-litre diesel celebration edition is priced at Rs 7,84,084, all prices ex-showroom Delhi.
The regular Sportz trim in petrol costs Rs 6,39,267 while diesel Sportz is priced at Rs 7,54,184, ex-showroom Delhi.
For the higher price, the Celebration edition of Elite i20 comes with matte black treatment for the roof and A-pillar and glossy black treatment for the C-Pillar. The new decal on either side is reminiscent to the design of chequered flag and the car also features a 1st Anniversary badge at the rear of the car. The Elite i20 Celebration Edition also gets chrome pedals and i20 Active sourced alloy wheels.
There are no major changes in the interior and the powertrain also remains the same. The 1.2-litre petrol engine develops 82bhp of power and 115Nm of torque mated to 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.4-litre diesel engine develops maximum power of 89bhp and maximum torque of 220Nm mated to 6-speed manual transmission.
