Hyundai Creta SUV is all set to cross a significant sales milestone. The SUV will cross 1 lakh sales soon. Launched in July 2015, the Creta would be fastest to go past 100,000 unit mark, which is expected to happen in August 2016.
The Creta is one of the most successful products of the Korean car maker and sales of the SUV surpassed 80,000 units units in June, within 11 months of the launch. Even after a year, the demand for the SUV is still in top gear. As per reports, Hyundai is yet to deliver around 50,000 units of the Creta to the customers who booked the SUV. The waiting period for the SUV now ranges between two to four months.
Though the company entered the compact SUV space of India very late, the Hyundai Creta took the segment by storm. The Creta is currently one of the best selling UVs in the country with monthly sales logging close to 7,000 units for the past couple of months. Hyundai India reportedly sold 7,700 units of the Creta in June, 7,057 units in May and 7,900 units in April.
The Creta is offered in both petrol and diesel-engine options. The 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine churns out 121bhp and 151Nm of torque, while the 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine develops 126bhp and 259Nm of torque. Both the engines are available with either six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The less powered 1.4-litre CRDi diesel unit churns out 89bhp and 220Nm of torque mated to a six-speed manual transmission only. The SUV has been priced in the range of Rs. 9.15 lakh and Rs. 14.50 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
