South Korean auto major Hyundai has announced that the bookings for its SUV Creta have crossed one lakh since its entry into the market. The Creta, which was launched July 23, 2015, achieved the new milestone in eight months.
Announcing the achievement, Hyundai said the Creta has received over one lakh bookings and five lakh enquiries. Untill now, the company has delivered 56,000 units of the SUV in the country.
"We thank our customers for the tremendous response with the record fastest 1 lakh bookings in 8 months. Like in the domestic market, CRETA has generated great response in Global markets with more than 28,000 orders. To reduce the waiting period, we are increasing CRETA production by 30% to total production of 13,000 units of which 10,000 units will be allocated for the domestic market," said YK Koo, managing director & CEO, HMIL, in a statement.
Based on Hyundai Motor's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy, the Creta is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options in the country. While the Creta's 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine can churn out 121bhp and 151Nm of torque, the 1.6 litre CRDI diesel engine is tuned to pump out 126bhp of power and 260Nm of torque. The entire engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, while the 1.6-litre CRDi is also available with six-speed automatic transmission.
The Hyundai Creta 1.6 petrol engine offers a fuel efficiency of 15.29 kmpl, while the 1.4 diesel and 1.6 diesel engine variants offer 21.38 kmpl and 19.67 kmpl mileage, respectively.
