After launching the petrol automatic of the current hot-selling SUV, the Creta, South Korean auto-major Hyundai has updated its diesel variants with S+ automatic. The Creta S+ automatic has been priced at Rs. 13.56 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Hyundai was offering automatic transmission only in the SX variant of the Creta and now has updated it in the lower variant, the S+. Emerging reports suggest that the new variant, the Creta S+ automatic, is available for booking across the country. The Creta S+ automatic is cheaper by Rs. 1.06 lakh than the existing model of the Creta diesel automatic.
The new Creta diesel automatic S+ will continue to be the same in terms of style and features. Hyundai Creta, the SUV which made its market entry in India in July 2015, is offered in both petrol and diesel-engine options in the country. The 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine churns out 121bhp and 151Nm of torque, while the 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine develops 126bhp and 259Nm of torque. The 1.4-litre CRDi diesel unit churns out 89bhp and 220Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, while the 1.6-litre CRDi is also available with six-speed automatic transmission.
Based on Hyundai Motor's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy, the Creta SUV had crossed 1 lakh bookings within eight months of its entry into the market and is soon expected to get a special anniversary edition to celebrate the completion of one year of the SUV in India.
