Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has confirmed to International Business Times, India that the upcoming petrol automatic variant of the popular Creta SUV will be priced at around Rs. 13 lakh. The model, which will soon be launched in the country, will have a waiting period of around 10 weeks.
The bookings for the new Creta petrol automatic have begun already. The Creta petrol automatic will come powered by a 1.6-litre VTVT engine mated to six-speed automatic transmission.
Hyundai Creta, the SUV which made its market entry in India in July 2015, is offered in both petrol and diesel-engine options in the country. While the Creta's 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine can churn out 121bhp and 151Nm of torque, the 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine is tuned to pump out 126bhp of power and 260Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to six-speed manual transmission. Currently, the 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine is also available with six-speed automatic transmission.
Based on Hyundai Motor's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy, the Creta SUV had crossed 1 lakh bookings within eight months of its entry into the market. An increase in its production has helped reduce the waiting period of the Creta SUV to two months from the previous eight months, Hyundai told IBT.
