South Korean auto maker Hyundai's latest offering in the SUV segment, Creta, continues to have strong demand in India.
Live Mint reports that Hyundai has received over 30,000 bookings for Creta. The company is planning to increase the production of the model to bring down the waiting period. Hyundai will ramp up production of the model from 5,000 to 6,500 units per month, Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice president, sales and marketing of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), told the daily.
It was reported earlier that Hyundai Creta command a waiting period of more than six months in some of the cities, which was likely to be extended in the coming months.
Priced in the range of Rs 8.59 lakh to Rs 13.60 lakh, Creta is being offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. Creta's 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine can churn out 123PS and 151Nm of torque. The 1.6 litre CRDI diesel engine is tuned to pump out 128PS of power and 260Nm of torque.
Hyundai Creta 1.6 petrol engine offers a fuel efficiency of 15.29 kmpl, while the 1.4 diesel and 1.6 diesel engine variants offer 21.38 kmpl and 19.67 kmpl mileage, respectively.
