South Korean auto major Hyundai has reportedly confirmed that the new compact SUV Creta will be launched in India in July.
A report in Indian Autos Blog, citing the Hyundai spokesperson, claims that the launch of Hyundai Creta has been confirmed for 21 July. The production of Hyundai Creta is expected to begin on 20 June.
Earlier this week, Hyundai launched the website for its Creta with the first rendering images of the model.
Based on Hyundai's next generation Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 (FS2.0) Design philosophy, Creta is likely to pack 1.6-litre petrol and diesel mills with 5- and 6-speed manual transmission under the hood.
"Creta design follows a premium look, based on Hyundai Motor's evolved design philosophy. Harmony between a bold front, voluminous side, sporty rear and other details complete the premium SUV's design," according to the company.
With an estimated localisation of about 90 percent, Hyundai Creta is expected be priced in the range of ₹8 lakh to ₹12 lakh. When launched, Hyundai Creta will be pitched against Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster, Mahindra Scorpio and Nissan Terrano in India.
