South Korean auto major Hyundai's Creta has been receiving overwhelming response from auto lovers in the country since its entry into the market in July this year. The latest is that the first compact SUV of Hyundai in India has received over 63,000 bookings and the number is going strong.
A report in The Financial Express states that Hyundai Creta has got over 63,000 bookings till October with sales exceeding 7,000 units per month. The Creta SUV, one of the most successful offering of the South Korean maker, has also become the best selling SUV in the first two months of its launch. The increasing demand for the Creta had forced the company to stretch the waiting period of the model up to six months. However, a recent report suggested that the waiting period has come down as the company ramped up production.
The Creta is being offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. The Creta's 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine can churn out 121bhp and 151Nm of torque. The 1.6 litre CRDI diesel engine is tuned to pump out 126bhp of power and 260Nm of torque. The entire engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, while the 1.6-litre CRDi is also available with six-speed automatic transmission.
The Hyundai Creta 1.6 petrol engine offers a fuel efficiency of 15.29 kmpl, while the 1.4 diesel and 1.6 diesel engine variants offer 21.38 kmpl and 19.67 kmpl mileage, respectively.
