Hyundai has set up a strong foothold in the Indian automobile market with its successful lineup of hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs. The Korean auto maker is now further expanding its SUV segment with the launch of all-new Creta next week in India. With the impending official launch, Hyundai has already bagged enormous coverage for Creta as more than 10,000 pre-bookings have been registered.
With such a response ahead of the actual launch, Hyundai is on the path to set a new benchmark in the SUV segment. In India, renowned car brands like Ford, Renault, Nissan, Tata Motors, Mahindra and Mahindra among others have established a competitive market. Hyundai's Creta will challenge every other SUV including Ford Ecosport, Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Mahindra Scorpio and more.
"We are delighted to receive an overwhelming response with over 28,500 enquiries and 10,000 customers showing their interest to live the Creta life. We thank the customers for their strong belief in Hyundai brand and assure them of our commitment towards meeting their high aspirations on world class quality products," Rakesh Srivastava, Senior Vice President - Sales & Marketing, Hyundai Motor India said in a statement, NDTV Auto reports.
By the looks of it, Creta looks stylish and borrows the company's signature Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy. Similar to the company's Verna sedan, Creta will come equipped with a 1.4-litre CRDi diesel, a 1.6-litre CRDi diesel or a 1.6-litre VTVT petrol.
Hyundai is popular for its feature-packed fleet of cars and the Creta SUV will continue the trend. The SUV will come in six variants across its petrol and diesel equipped models, including Creta Base, Creta S, Creta S+,Creta SX, Creta SX+ and Creta SX(O).
Creta will pack 17-inch alloy wheels, body paint matching door handles, ABS, LED daytime running lamps 2-DIN infotainment system, rear spoiler, rear parking camera with guidelines, AVN, smart key, push button start, chrome door handles, side and curtain airbags, height adjustable seat belts and speed-sensing auto door locks.
