South Korean auto-major Hyundai's highly acclaimed SUV -- the Creta -- is getting a new edition to celebrate its first anniversary in the Indian market. The anniversary edition of the Creta is rumoured to break its cover in the country on July 7, Thursday. Now hours ahead of the possible launch, the new edition of the Creta has made its online debut though a spy shot.
Snapped by ThrustZone, from the latest image it is almost confirmed that the anniversary edition of the Creta will be called 1Edition as it is seen embossed on the C-pillar. While overall styling and the features of the Creta is likely to remain untouched, judging by the images it seems to have got new body decals and contrast roof.
The SUV is also likely to boast minor changes inside the cabin such as new special edition seat cover, floor mat and door sill. The anniversary edition of the Creta is expected to be offered in the SX or SX (O) variants of the SUV.
Mechanically, the new edition of the Creta will remain unchanged and will come in both petrol and diesel-engine options. The 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine churns out 121bhp and 151Nm of torque, while the 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine develops 126bhp and 259Nm of torque. Both the engines are available with either six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The less powered 1.4-litre CRDi diesel unit churns out 89bhp and 220Nm of torque mated to a six-speed manual transmission only.
The Creta special anniversary edition is expected to be priced at a premium of Rs. 30,000-Rs. 35,000 on the current model.
