Hyundai Motor India Limited launched the Creta in July last year and as part of the anniversary celebrations, the company will launch special edition of the SUV. Emerging reports indicate the debut of the anniversary edition has been scheduled on July 7.
The Creta has been successful for the Korean car-maker with over 1.3 lakh bookings for the SUV out of which close to 80,000 units have been delivered so far. Details on the special edition are scarce at present. The anniversary edition is expected to be a cosmetic upgrade in line with the Hyundai Grand i10 and Xcent anniversary editions launched recently.
The anniversary edition of the Creta will be based on the SX variant, reports Carwale. Cosmetic additions expected on the exterior include chrome touches in the grille, side decals and anniversary badge on tailgate. Interior may get new fabric upholstery and a 6.2-inch Blaupunkt touchscreen infotainment system.
The anniversary edition is expected to be priced Rs. 30,000-Rs. 35,000 more than that of the standard SX variant. Hyundai may sell the special edition in limited numbers.
The Creta is offered in both petrol and diesel-engine options. The 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine churns out 121bhp and 151Nm of torque, while the 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine develops 126bhp and 259Nm of torque. Both the engines are available with either six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The less powered 1.4-litre CRDi diesel unit churns out 89bhp and 220Nm of torque mated to a six-speed manual transmission only. The SUV has been priced in the range of Rs. 9.15 lakh and Rs. 14.50 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
