Hyundai Motor India Limited unveiled the 1st anniversary special edition version of the Creta on Thursday and the first unit has been gifted to the ace badminton player of India, Saina Nehwal, for her win in the Australian Open Championship.
The anniversary edition comes with stripe styled body decals in red and grey on the sides and rear of the SUV. It features contrasting black roof, 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and 1st Anniversary Edition badge on the C-pillar. On the interior, the seats get dual tone treatment in red and black.
Hyundai is yet to launch the anniversary edition, hence the prices have not yet been revealed. Market launch of the special edition is expected soon. The anniversary edition of the Creta is expected to be based on the SX variant and the number of units will be limited.
Being just a special edition, there is no mechanical upgrades in the special edition. The 1.6-litre VTVT petrol engine in the Creta churns out 121bhp and 151Nm of torque, while the 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine develops 126bhp and 259Nm of torque. Both the engines are available with either six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The less powered 1.4-litre CRDi diesel unit churns out 89bhp and 220Nm of torque mated to a six-speed manual transmission only.
