New Bollywood releases "Hunterrr" and "Dilliwali Zaalim Girlfriend" (DZG) opened to an average response, but the former has edge over the latter at the Indian box office on Saturday.
"Hunterrr" is a sex-comedy starring Gulshan Devaiah and Radhika Apte in the lead roles. Released in a limited number of theatres, the medium-budget movie registered an average occupancy in the morning shows, but its business improved a lot in the later shows on its opening day. The film collected Rs 1.23 crore net at the Indian box office on the first day.
The Gulshan and Radhika starrer garnered positive reviews from critics and viewers. The word of mouth took its business upwards on Saturday. The movie did better collection in multiplexes than single screens. On its second day, the film has raked in Rs 1.60 crore net at the domestic box office, taking its two-day total to Rs 2.83 crore net. It is expected to do even better business on Sunday.
The other new release, "Dilliwaali Zaalim Girlfriend", is romantic comedy featuring Divyendu Sharma and Prachi Mishra in the lead roles. Like "Hunterrr", this movie was also released in limited number of theatres and opened to a dull response in the morning show and did not show growth in later shows on Friday. It collected Rs 62 lakh net at the Indian box office on the first day.
The Divyendu Sharma starrer received mixed response from the viewers and critics and the word of mouth took a toll on its business on Saturday. The film witnessed around 12% drop. On its second day, "Dilliwaali Zaalim Girlfriend" earned Rs 55 lakh net at the Indian box office and its two-day collection stands at Rs 1.17 crore net. Its business is expected to grow up on Sunday.
As per early trends, "Hunterrr" and "Dilliwali Zaalim Girlfriend" are likely to collect Rs 2.50 crore net together at the Indian box office on the third day.
