The first look of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" is out. Lionsgate shared the first look of the film on its website with a bunch of promo material.
The production house also released cast photos of Julianne Moore, Jeffrey Wright Mahershala Ali and Woody Harrelson. Sadly, photos of Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson were not released.
"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part1" is being helmed by director Francis Lawrence and producer Nina Jacobson. The film also stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, who died on 2 February due to a heroine overdose. However, he had completed most of his scenes before passing away.
"We finished the majority of his work [before he died]," Lawrence said on the movie's website. "I think he might have had 8 to 10 days left on our schedule. In most of the scenes, Philip didn't have any dialogue. We are going to put him into those scenes, but we're only using real footage. We're not creating anything digital or a robotic version of him."
Hoffman played the character of Plutarch Heavensbee in "The Hunger Games" franchise.
"We had to rewrite the dialogue scenes that he had left and there's no question that shooting those scenes is painful without him. We might give a line of Plutarch's to Haymitch or Effie, but only in circumstances that we are able to do that without undermining the intent of the scene, " Jacobson said
Apart from some of the movie stills, Moore also went ahead and recorded an interview suggesting how badly she wanted to be part of the movie. Moore explained that she has read all the books in "The Hunger Games" series and she was mighty impressed by them.
"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" proved to be a success and fans are hoping that "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" has the same effect.
The film will open in theaters on November 19, 2014
