Chinese telecommunication technology major Huawei launched two new flagship smartphones, dubbed the P9, P9 Plus in London April 6.
"Consumers around the world use their smartphones to take billions of pictures each year, making photography critical to user experience. P9 users can now capture images with unmatched clarity, richness and authenticity, with a masterfully designed and powerful smartphone that looks and feels incredible," Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, said in a statement.
The key aspect of Huawei's P9 and P9 Plus is their camera hardware. They boast dual 12MP primary camera co-engineered by the world-renowned German optics firm Leica Camera AG known for its top-notch rangefinder cameras. It comes with f/2.2 aperture, dual-tone LED flash, laser autofocus and BSI CMOS sensor.
The additional camera sensor, besides the main camera module of the device, will be used to capture detailed depth information of the scene, enabling user to re-focus objects on the photos through a photo application.The dual-camera design also guarantees more light absorption resulting in crisp and detailed image capture.
On the front, they feature an 8MP snapper with f/2.4 aperture.
Other stipulated features of Huawei P9 include 5.2-inch full HD display, fingerprint sensor on the back (below the primary camera module) Android Marshmallow OS, Huawei's Kirin 955 octa-core SoC (System-on-Chip), 3GB/64GB inbuilt memory and a 3,000mAh battery.
On the other hand, Huawei P9 Plus houses pretty much same features as seen inside the P9, but it differs in a couple of aspects. It sports a bigger 5.5-inch full HD screen and comes packed with a high-capacity 3,400mAh cell.

The new Huawei P9 comes in two combinations — 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB — for €599 (around around $683/Rs.45,428) and €649 (around $740/Rs. 49,220), respectively. It comes in titanium grey and mystic silver colour options.
Whereas the phablet-based model, P9 Plus, comes in 4GB/64GB storage configuration for €749 (around $854/ Rs. 56,807)
