Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei, on the sidelines of the new Honor 7 launch in India, has reportedly revealed the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be available for the Honor series of devices.
Huawei spokesperson told technology blog The Mobile Indian that the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow (beta) will be released to Indian Honor 7 device owners in January 2016, while the public version will be rolled out 30 days later.
The company representative also added that Google's new sugar treat flavoured OS will be deployed to Honor 6 Plus, Honor 6 and Honor 4X, couple of months later, in March, 2016.
With the announcement, Huawei becomes Google's fourth major OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) partner to detail Android 6.0 Marshmallow release details.

HTC, Motorola and Sony are the other firms to announce the new OS update deployment program details.
For the uninitiated, Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes with native support for fingerprint sensor input, leaner and faster Chrome browser, more intuitive Now on Tap feature, new security feature verified boot system, support for more international dialects, new contextual assistance feature, Google photos and auto back-up from where all app's user data (less than 25MB) will automatically be stored in Google Drive.

The key aspect of Marshmallow is the Doze power saving feature, which has been incorporated in to extend battery life by at least 30% depending on the device's internal hardware.
