Chinese electronics major, Huawei on Wednesday released a 10.1-inch Android tablet PC, MediaPad 10 Link, into the Indian market.
During the launch, Huawei Device India President, Victor Shan said, "MediaPad 10 Link is a perfect fusion of everyday productivity & portability and we are very excited to introduce this to the Indian consumer. Its features make it an extremely fast and slim device which offers fabulous entertainment. We are very excited to offer a tablet that promises a delightful user experience at such a smart price."
Huawei's new tablet sports a 10.1-inch IPS capacitive HD touch screen having 1280x800 pixel resolution and runs on the Android v4.1 Jelly Bean OS powered by1.2GHz Cortex-A9 quad-core processor. It packs 1GB RAM and 16GB internal memory which can be further expanded up to 32GB through a microSD card.
MediaPad 10 Link comes with a 3.0-megapixel main camera and a 0.3-megapixel VGA camera on the front.
Considering its price-tag of ₹24,990, Huawei's tablet will face stiff competition from local brands such as Micromax and Karbonn which are churning out affordable tablets for as low as ₹10,000. Even MNC brands Asus' Google Nexus 7 which boasts quad-core processor is priced around ₹21,000 (3G and Wi-Fi model) and ₹16,000 (Wi-Fi only model).
As of now, Huawei MediaPad 10 Link is reportedly available in multi-brand retail stores such as Ezone and Croma, and can be pre-ordered through Flipkart.com, Infibeam.com and other e-commerce websites for around ₹24,990.
