If you haven't heard of Huawei in India, you've been living under a rock. But the upcoming launch of its latest flagship will change that as Huawei plans to take on Apple, Samsung and Google flagships head-on. The world's second largest smartphone manufacturer is gearing up for the launch of Huawei Mate 20 Pro and now we have a date.
According to IANS, industry sources have confirmed that the Mate 20 Pro is launching in India on November 27. While the company has been secretive about the launch date of its Mate 20 Pro, which is the first Mate smartphone Indians will be able to buy in the country, there had been reports alleging the phone's launch sometime this month.
If the report is accurate, it is going to be exciting news for smartphone enthusiasts in the country who will witness the Mate 20 Pro's excellence at its best. Amazon India has already set up a landing page, confirming the online portal's exclusivity over Mate 20 Pro's online sales.
Since Huawei Mate 20 Pro was launched in London last month, there's little surprise regarding its specs and features. But the phone's pricing remains largely unknown. If we go with the international pricing of EUR 1,049, the Mate 20 Pro could well be priced close to a lakh.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro is clearly going to disrupt the flagship race in the country. The smartphone comes with some top-of-the-line features, which will easily give a tough competition to the likes of iPhone XS Max and Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro comes with a 6.39-inch curved OLED QHD+ display, an extremely bold design and the rear camera setup has been inspired by Porsche's iconic headlight design. The premium design of the Mate 20 Pro is well complemented by the hardware specs.
The Mate 20 Pro is powered by 7nm-based HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. We've explained the chipset's capabilities in detail in a previous post and the fact that Kirin 980 comes in the Mate 20 Pro says a lot about the phone's optimum performance.
But the best things are not limited to great design and best performance. Huawei is betting huge on the cameras of the Mate 20 Pro, which come with triple-lens setup at the back combining 40MP primary wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture, a 20MP wide angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a third 8MP 3X telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, there's a 24MP RGB sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 3D face unlocking support.
To get things interesting, the Mate 20 Pro comes with a large 4,200mAh battery supported by 40W SuperCharge technology, which is a boon. The smartphone also supports 15W fast wireless charging. The smartphone can also be turned into a wireless charging pad with its reverse charging functionality.
Other noted features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, dual-band Bluetooth 5.0, singe SIM card slot, stereo well-stacked inside the USB port, IR blaster, and more. The smartphone runs Android 9.0 Pie based EMUI 9.0, which is a lot refined than the previous EMUI iterations.
