Huawei subsidiary, Honor launched the flagship Honor 8 series along with the Holly 3 in New Delhi on October 12.
The new Honor 8 series comes in two variants—one, a flagship Honor 8 and another, mid-range Honor 8 Smart.
The marquee phone Honor 8 boasts two 12MP parallel cameras on the back with f/2.2 aperture, laser autofocus, dual-tone LED flash, BSI CMOS sensor and full HD video recording ability.
The additional camera sensor, positioned next to the main camera module of the device, will be used to capture in-depth information of the scene, enabling user to re-focus objects on the photos through a photo application. The dual-camera design also guarantees more light absorption resulting in crisp and detailed image capture.
On the front, it houses a decent 8MP shooter with f/2.4 aperture, which is enough to get a good quality selfie.
The Honor 8 comes covered with all-metal shield having finger-print sensor on the back and sports a 5.2-inch full HD display and comes with Android Marshmallow OS powered by Huawei's proprietary HiSilicon Kirin 950 octa-core processor with 4GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt storage and a 3,000mAh battery with quick charge technology.
Other notable aspect of the Honor 8 is its security feature. It boasts a dual-function advanced fingerprint reader redefines the 3D fingerprint scanning. It is powered by a level 4 fingerprint acquisition algorithm, that delivers enhanced security, and smart features like fingerprint reader to make payments, take photos, record video, receive phone calls, or turn off an alarm or unlock its Smart Key button functions, customizable for instant access to features and apps along
On the other hand, the Honor 8 Smart comes with similar size, but comes with less superior internal hardware such as 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage, 3,000mAh battery and only single 13MP Sony IMX214 camera sensor on the back and an 8MP shooter on the front.
As far as the Honor Holly 3 is concerned, it is budget smartphone and also the company's first made in India smartphone. It features 5.5-inch HD screen, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, Kirin 620 octa-core processor, 13MP primary camera, 5MP front-snapper and a 3,100mAh battery.
