Huawei has listed its most-awaited Honor 5X on Flipkart, with plans to launch the affordable metal smartphone in India on 28 January. There is a lot of anticipation around the pricing of the Honor 5X, which is expected to take on major rivals in the industry with its competitive features. The official launch of the metal smartphone begins at 2pm on Thursday.
Huawei Honor 5X was launched at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016 in Las Vegas after it was released in China in October last year. The Honor 5X has a unique appeal that threatens major players in the country. Some of the biggest competitors to Honor 5X are LeEco Le 1s, Lenovo K4 Note and upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. These phones have striking specifications that bring new definition to affordable smartphones.
Huawei is yet to reveal the pricing of the Honor 5X in India. Going by the handset's international price, expect the Honor 5X to retail between Rs 10,000- Rs 15,000. Huawei will partner with Flipkart to exclusively sell the Honor 5X in the country.
In China, Honor 5X costs CNY 999 (about Rs 10,200) for the 2GB RAM variant and CNY 1,399 (about Rs 14,300) for the 3GB RAM model. In the US, Huawei launched the 2GB RAM model at $199.99 (approximately Rs 13,365).
In terms of specifications, Huawei has listed key details on the Flipkart page, which shows a fingerprint sensor, 13MP primary camera with SmartImage processor, 5MP front snapper, Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor and a full metal body.
Other features of the Honor 5X are also known. The affordable smartphone features a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 technology, dual SIM 4G LTE support and gold and silver colour options.
