Huawei subsidiary Honor has released a teaser on social media sites hinting that the company will launch a new smartphone, Honor 5C, in India later this month.
The teaser posted by Honor on Twitter reads: "Beautiful pictures in a snap with Kirin 650 16nm chipset on our latest phone. Launching, June 22. #DareToPerform." Though there is no mention of the device moniker, CPU name "Kirin 650" suggests that the phone the company is planning to launch next Wednesday might be Honor 5C, which was unveiled in China in late April.
For those unaware, the new Honor 5C is a budget phone. It features 5.2-inch full HD display, Android Marshmallow OS, Huawei's proprietary HiSilicon Kirin 650 octa-core CPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage and a 3000mAh battery.
The Honor 5C also boasts fingerprint sensor on the back and above it, the company has incorporated a 13MP camera with LED flash. On the front, it houses 8MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture.
How much Honor 5C might cost in India?
In China, it costs ¥899 (around $137/€121/Rs. 9,174). To attract more buyers in India, the company may price Honor 5C around Rs. 10,000, if not less.
Its predecessor, Honor 4C, was also aggressively priced to give a stiff challenge to rivals.
