Following Xiaomi's footsteps, Huawei has announced that its smartphones will be sold at offline stores also. For this, it has partnered with Sangeetha Mobiles, a smartphone retailing chain of South India.
The company is confident of achieving higher sales of its Honor range of smartphones in the current financial year through the partnership.
The association with Sangeetha Mobiles will be marked with the sale of one of its best-selling smartphones 'Honor Holly', allowing customers to touch and feel Honor devices.
The 'Honor Holly' will be available for ₹7,999 at all 320 Sangeetha Mobiles stores spread across Karnataka Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
The smartphone will be available at an inaugural offer of 20% cashback and a brand new Reliance dongle for an additional rupee.
Allen Wang, President of Consumer Business Group, Huawei India said, "To reinforce our commitment towards our customers in India we have decided to introduce Honor Holly in brick-and-mortar retailer shops where customers can get a hands on experience of our smartphone. We are glad to exclusively partner with Sangeetha Mobiles as they have a strong market in southern market in India."
In 2014, Honor sold 20 million units, translating into approximately 1.5 units sold every second. Honor products were launched in October 2014 with Flipkart.com in India and have received good response from customers.
