Taiwanese mobile maker HTC will officially introduce its new entrant, HTC One S, in India on June 15 under the top-end Android phone category. The smartphone comes with a dual-core Qualcomm S3 processor.
HTC One S was supposed to release last week. However, the launch was deferred due to some reasons.
The HTC One S is a scaled down version compared to One X in terms of features and specs. The sources have confirmed that the Indian markets will be getting the dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor of One S, which was earlier said that it would come with the dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor.
"We can now confirm the One S will be shipped with a Qualcomm S3 dual-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz rather than the 1.5GHz S4 processor that HTC had promised at MWC earlier this year," BGR.in, tech-based website confirmed it.
It added, "The Qualcomm is facing a production crunch with its S4 series of Snapdragon processors and is not able to churn out enough silicon as the demand."
Infibeam, an online gadget shopping website, has confirmed the release date of HTC One S on its website saying that it would be available from June 15. The website is also taking pre-booking orders for the phone and interested customers can pay a fixed amount of Rs 1,000 in advance for reserving a handset.
Infibeam, promises to deliver the product to the customers within 2 to 3 days of its launch.
However, the handset's price is still a little secret. The mobile markets speculated that HCT One S may come with a price tag of Rs 33, 000.

HTC One S is said to have Qualcomm S3 dual-core processor and 1 GB RAM onboard. It is expected to run on the latest version of Android 4.0- Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS).
HCT One S packs 4.3 inch full touchscreen rugged with Gorilla glass and features a primary camera of 8-megapixels, 3264x2448 pixels autofocus, LED flash and offers simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, face and smile detection.
The headset also packs a secondary VGA camera, facilitating for video calling. One S comes with the internal storage memory of 16 GB, with no expandable options. It has Li-Po 1650 mAh standard battery.
The handset supports Bluetooth, WiFi, DLNA functionality, and 3G mobile connectivity.
