Speculations have been doing the rounds for quite a while that HTC will unveil its upcoming flagship smartphone dubbed as HTC One (M9) at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015) but China-based HTC leaker @upleaks has claimed that it will be announced at a special event scheduled for the new device.
A tweet by @upleaks claims that the device codenamed "Hima", which is believed to be the HTC One (M9), will be unveiled at a special event and not at the Consumer Electronics Show 2015 (CES 2015) to be held in January or the MWC 2015 in March.
I think HTC won't announce Hima at MWC2015, it may be announced at their special event...

The claim by @upleaks might hold water, as the current flagship smartphone HTC One (M8), was also announced at a special event. However, the source didn't reveal the release date of the device.
The same source has claimed that HTC's upcoming device will come in three colours - gray, silver and gold – and sport a 5-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 screen resolution. It had earlier revealed that the device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, run on Android 5.0 Lollipop, house a 2840mAh battery, 20.7MP main camera and 13MP or UltraPixel 4MP front snapper, HTC Sense 7, and come packed with 3GB RAM.
However, a report by My Drivers website (via Phone Arena) has claimed that the HTC One (M9) will sport a 5-inch display with 2K screen resolution, come packed with a 64GB internal memory, 3GB RAM and microSD up to 128GB, and house a 3,500mAh battery. It went on to claim that the device will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, have a 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS), and come with BOSE duel speakers.
