HTC launched its 2015 flagship smartphone at the MWC 2015 trade show earlier this month sans pricing and availability details. It's finally time to rest people's curiosity as new details emerge. Shortly after Best Buy listed the HTC One M9 on its website with a $649.99 price tag earlier this month, American online retailer B&H put up the handset on its website. Surprisingly, the listing not only confirms the price of the HTC One M9, but also gives the launch date and time.
As per B&H listing of HTC One M9 smartphone, first spotted by Phone Arena, the 32GB variant of the silver and gold handset will sell for $649 without any carrier contract. B&H also allows shoppers to add the product to their wish list. The One M9 is expected to be available on 25 March, same day HTC One M8 was launched. Best Buy's product listing is no longer available as it returns with an error. Both early listings from reputed online retailers featuring the same price tag cannot be a co-incidence.
If the launch date is accurate, we'll know exactly how much the HTC One M9 will cost. Also, with an early launch, HTC will be getting ahead of Samsung, which has reportedly received 20 million orders for its Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge so far.
HTC's latest flagship smartphone features a 5-inch display with 1920x1080 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core 2GHz Snapdragon 810 processor coupled with 3GB DDR4 RAM and 32GB onboard storage. There's also a microSD card that can support up to 128GB. On the camera side, HTC moved its traditional ultrapixel shooter to the front side of the phone and packed a 20.7mp rear camera.
The notable change in HTC One M9 is its dual tone brushed metal body. The BoomSound speakers remain at the front to give a clear audio. HTC packs a 2,840mAh battery and runs on Android 5.0 with Sense 7.0 on top.
