HTC has launched its latest flagship smartphone HTC One M9 at MWC, 2015 in Barcelona and the manufacturer has received mixed reaction from critics as well as tech enthusiasts.
Though several experts expected the One M9 to be released in two variants, HTC launched only a single edition of the phone. Meanwhile, some new leaked pictures show that the smartphone manufacturer is already gearing up to release another edition of the same.
The new leaked images show that the upcoming smartphone HTC One M9 Plus might feature a physical home button on the new phone and 2 speaker grilles instead of just one. The bottom speakers are meant for audio playback and hence the leak suggests that HTC might focus on enhancing the media playback output.
The leak further suggests the One M9 Plus might feature a fingerprint scanner on the home button like other flagship already has. The inbuilt fingerprint scanner makes the smartphone more secure.
There are also some rumours around the specification of the upcoming smartphone. According to technology blog handsonphone, the One M9 Plus will purportedly feature a 5-inch QHD screen with a resolution support of 1440x2560 pixels and will pack a MedaiTek MT6795SoC in the Asian Edition of the phone. The Europe and US edition of the same phone will feature a Qualcomm 810 SoC on board. Both the variants will feature 3GB RAM memory and 32GB internal memory with the physical home button.
While the mentioned specification is good enough for a high end phone, tech enthusiasts might not be very happy with the features since Samsung's latest flagships Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge might easily beat the One M9 Plus in performance.
There are no other mentions regarding the camera and battery specification of the said phone. We expect HTC will consider a higher end back camera and a powerful battery to give at least a day of battery life and retain the micro SD card slot for expanding the phone storage.
