HTC One M9+ Officially Launched with QHD Display

After weeks of speculations, Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC today (8 April) finally pulled the wraps off the new flagship variant One M9+ in China.

The One M9+ looks strikingly identical to the original HTC One M9, which boasts of the dual-tone uni-body design language, wherein the phone's rear is a silver-coated metal, and on the edges, it is laced with gold-coating, providing dual metal finish.

In its bid to make the device look different from the original flagship model, the company has made few changes in display resolution (& size) CPU and camera department.

One M9+ sports a 5.2-inch QHD (2560x1440p) LCD screen and houses MediaTek Octa-core SoC (System on Chip), 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory and a 2840 mAh battery. One key aspect of the new HTC One M9+ is that it houses the finger-print sensor seen in rival brands - Samsung Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge and Apple iPhone 6.

On the photography front, it houses the 20.0-megapixel camera with an additional camera sensor at the top to capture detailed, in-depth information in the background, enabling users to re-focus other objects visible in the photo which have already been clicked via UFocus application.

On the front, it houses a 4.1-ultrapixel snapper with f/2.0 aperture, 28 mm lens and full HD video recording ability.

The company has reportedly confirmed that the new HTC One M9+ will be initially made available in China, but details regarding price and availability in other markets are still under wraps.
