Taiwanese smartphone maker, HTC has reportedly revealed that the company's flagship model HTC One in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) regions are slated to get the new KitKat OS firmware early next year.
Soon after the KitKat OS unveiling on 31 October, 2013, HTC was the first among the Google OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) partners to announce the OS update roll out plans for HTC smartphones in US. Now, HTC has claimed that the company is planning to release the new OS update to HTC One in EMEA regions by the "end of January, 2014", reported Android Community.
The company has also said that HTC One variants- HTC One Max phablet and the HTC One Mini are also slated to get the new KitKat update, but the company shied away from revealing further details, when asked for the time line of OS update release.
Apart from US and EMEA regions, there is no word on when the Taiwanese company would release the new firmware for HTC One in Asia, which is home to world's top smartphone markets - China and India.
As per recent reports, HTC One Google Edition is confirmed to receive the update in a fortnight's time, whereas the original HTC One, the model runs on Android Jelly Bean OS with custom Sense UI is pegged to get the new firmware(with updated Sense v5.5 UI) in 90 days (only in USA).
