Indian arm of the Taiwanese smartphone company, HTC has reportedly slashed prices of its flagship handsets HTC One Dual-SIM and One Mini.
The news was disclosed by an online retail shop ezyby.com via a tweeter feed, which said "Price Drop on HTC One Dual and ONE Mini New Price 42990 and 29990". Other e-retailers like Flipkart, Infibeam, Amazon India and Snapdeal too have reduced the prices of these two HTC phones, but it is still unclear if this is a limited time-bound special Christmas offer or not.
HTC One Mini made its debut in India in September. It was panned by critics and fans alike for its exorbitant price-tag of ₹36,720, which was much higher compared to more feature-rich phones like Google Nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy S3, Sony Xperia Z, LG Optimus G and LG Optimus G Pro. Even the new Nexus 5 (32GB) costs under ₹33,000.
The HTC mid-range smartphone sported a 4.3-inch Super LCD 3 screen with HD (720x1280p) resolution having pixel density of 341 ppi (pixels per inch) and ships with Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS with HTC custom UI (User-Interface) Sense.
On the other hand, HTC One (Dual-SIM) was released in October for ₹53,590. Apart from additional SIM slot and expandable memory option, it featured same specifications as the original single SIM model. It flaunts 4.7-inch Super LCD 3 with RGB matrix display (pixel density: 468 pixel per inches) 1920 x 1080p display resolution and runs on Android v4.1.2 Jelly Bean with custom Sense UI powered by a Snapdragon 600 series quad-core processor.
