HTC has finally brought the powerful and much-praised Desire 826 smartphone to Indian consumers.
The launch was imminent and was reported for several days now, but the official announcement gives away more details. Most notably, the pricing of the HTC Desire 826 has been revealed, which suggests the new handset will tag along its companions in the ₹20,000 to ₹25,000 range. According to BGR, HTC Desire 826 will be available through multiple retailers at a suggested price of ₹25,990.
For the price, buyers will be treated to a whole lot of new features and an overall worthy handset. The Desire 826, which was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year, comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 401ppi. Powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, the Desire 826 is paired with Adreno 405 for graphics and 2GB RAM.
Putting aside the technicalities, the HTC Desire 826 offers a stylish look with company's signature colour combinations. It has wide camera sensors for great photos and features a 13-megapixel rear sensor with a 4MP Ultrapixel secondary camera. There are interesting add-ons such as Live Makeup, face fusion and options to create funny movements using the phone's camera. The handset offers 16GB onboard storage but that barely suffices for those who like offline storage. So, HTC is throwing in a microSD slot for memory expansion up to 128GB.
The Desire 826 also packs HTC's proprietary BoomSound speakers coupled with Dolby Audio1 surround for great audio and comes with a 2,600mAh battery, dual-SIM card slots and 4G LTE support. On the software side of things, HTC Desire 826 will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop and Sense 6 UI out of the box.
The news of the HTC handset's arrival in India was first reported by popular mobile retailer, Mahesh Telecom on Facebook. The retailer suggested the price to be ₹26,200, almost close to the official price.
