One of the most interesting rumors of HTC One Max has been revealed amidst other rumored specifications and user interface features. HTC One Max, HTC One's yet-to-be-announced elder sibling, has reportedly borrowed the idea of the much criticized fingerprint scanner, recently seen in Apple's flagship device, iPhone 5S.
Though the Taiwanese tech firm has not confirmed any details of the handset yet, leaked images on Chinese website Weibo have hinted towards what appears to be a fingerprint scanner, according to MobiLeaks.
The picture shows a prototype of the handset, which matches with the images found in the earlier leaks. The images show the front and rear section of the device. The rear part of the handset is seen carrying a sensor right below the camera and is rumored to be the fingerprint scanner. However, unlike Apple iPhone 5S, the sensor is square-shaped instead of a circular module and is situated at the back of the handset.
HTC also seems to trail behind the Apple iPhone 5S' idea of introducing the handset in gold version. A few images leaked by the same Chinese website, shows HTC's flagship phone, HTC One, sporting a glittering gold color or champagne-like casing, according to Engadget.
It has been speculated that revealing images of the gold casing shortly after the announcement of Apple iPhone 5S cannot be a co-incidence. The image also reveals the date stamp of 12 August on the panel, which shows that the handset is expected to show up anytime this year. It has been also reported that a 24-carat HTC Gold already exists.
The above mentioned features, which bear resemblance to the Apple iPhone 5S handset, have been revealed after HTC mocked the firm and the handset in its latest blog post regarding its lack of innovation for the past several years.
"The HTC One delivered true breakthroughs in sound, photography, and how you use your phone, all wrapped in jaw-dropping metal design that has caused more than a few iFans to do a double-take," stated the post. However, it now appears that the Taiwanese brand too is running out of innovative ideas.
