Taiwanese smartphone major, HTC on Thursday (12 March) launched a new handset Desire 820s in India.
The new HTC smartphone is the third variant of the Desire 820 series; the company had released the original 820 model with 64-bit class Snapdragon 615 Octa-core SoC (System on Chip) and a low-end model Desire 820Q with 64-bit class Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor in late 2014.
This newly launched Desire 820S houses a 1.7GHz MediaTek Octa-core CPU. Other internal hardware such as screen, camera, battery, inbuilt-memory capacity of device are same as seen in the other two 820 series devices.

It sports 5.5-inch HD screen with Gorilla Glass 3 and ships with 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory and a 2600 mAh battery.
On the photography front, it comes packed with 13.0-megapixel camera with BSI sensor, F/2.2, 28 mm lens, 1080p video recording and a feature-rich 8.0-megapixel snapper on the front, which is certain please selfie aficionados.

HTC Desire 820S has been priced ₹24,840 in India, reported The Indian Express.
It has a very good build quality, decent camera specifications and a big brand name to go with it; but, with such an exorbitant price tag, HTC will have a tough time convincing the price-sensitive Indian buyers as there are similar feature-rich devices like Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G and Micromax YU Yureka which are available for much lesser prices.
