HTC appears to be on course for the release of Google's latest operating system, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, to its Desire series. HTC Desire EYE received the firmware update a few days ago, and now it's time for the Desire 816 to taste it after months of waiting.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow is being currently rolled out to the Desire 816 dual SIM devices in Saudi Arabia, and the update comes with Sense UI version 7.0, according to a report by GSMArena. The report went on to say that the update comes in two parts, with the first part weighing 55MB that prepares the device for the firmware update, and the second part, which installs the OS, weighs 1GB.
The Taiwanese technology giant has confirmed that it would release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to devices like HTC M9+, HTC One M9, HTC One M8 Dual SIM, HTC One A9, HTC One E9, HTC ME, HTC One E8, HTC M8 EYE, HTC Butterfly 3, HTC Desire EYE, HTC Desire 826, HTC Desire 820 and HTC Desire 816.
The company has so far seeded the firmware to One M9, One M8 Dual SIM and One A9. It is still not known when other eligible devices, including HTC One E8, M8 EYE, Butterfly 3, Desire 826 and Desire 820 will receive it, but it should not be far off.
