HTC appears to be gearing up to launch yet another mid-range smartphone, as a device named Desire 530 has been spotted online. Not much detail has been revealed, but the price and release details have been leaked.
The Taiwanese smartphone-maker's new device, the Desire 530, has been listed on a Dutch retailer's website, reported GSMInfo (via GSM Arena). It went on to claim that the mid-range smartphone would come with a price tag of around €190 and be available in two colours — Stratus White and Graphite Gray.
The retailer also expects the device to arrive on 23 February, which means it could be released at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2016 (MWC 2016) to be held from 22 to 25 February. HTC is expected to unveil its flagship device, the One M10 (Perfume), in March before releasing it in April. So, the Desire 530, if it exists, should be released before that.
HTC has been tight-lipped on the Desire 530 till date, but should have several feature upgrades over its predecessor, the Desire 526, if it comes true.
The Desire 526, which was released in August last year, sports a 4.7-inch capacitive touchscreen with 540x960 pixel resolution (234 ppi pixel density), measures 140 x 70 x 9.9 mm in dimension and weighs 156g. Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor, Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with HTC Sense 7 UI, 8GB internal memory (expandable up to 200GB via microSD card), 1.5GB RAM, an 8MP main camera with autofocus and LED flash, a 2MP front-snapper and a 2,000mAh battery.
