Taiwanese technology major HTC unveiled today a mid-range quad-core smartphone - Desire 500, in its home market.
HTC Desire 500 sports a WVGA screen with 480x800p display resolution and run on Android mobile OS with HTC Sense UI (User Interface) on top. In terms of power, it packs 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor with 1GB RAM and 4GB inbuilt memory which can be expanded up to 64GB. It houses an 1800 mAh battery which gives up to 17.8 hours talk time and 401 hours on standby mode.
The new mid-range HTC phone flaunts an 8.0-megapixel camera with BSI sensor, auto-focus, LED flash support, dedicated HTC ImageChip, F2.0 aperture and 28 mm lens. On the front, it houses a 1.6-megapixel camera with BSI sensor
According to reports, HTC Desire 500 will go on sale on 1 August in Taiwan with a price-tag of TWN (Taiwan New Dollar) 11,900 (around ₹23,700). Details regarding availability of the new HTC handset in other market are still scarce.
