Taiwanese technology major HTC is all set to launch the flagship Butterfly smartphone successor in India.
HTC Butterfly S made its global debut on 19 June in its home territory, Taipei, and was reported to get released in select Asian markets by July. Keeping true to its promise, the Indian arm of HTC has now listed the Butterfly successor on its official website, hinting at the imminent launch in coming days. However, the company is still holding back the details regarding the price and the actual date of availability.
The new smartphone sports a 5.0-inch Super LCD 3 screen having full HD resolution with pixel density of 440 ppi (pixels per inch) and comes with Corning Glass 3 protective display shield.
HTC Butterfly S runs on the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS powered by the 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 series quad-core processor paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt memory which can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.
The new HTC phone houses an advanced 2.0-ultrapixel (equivalent to 4.0-megapixel) camera which was first seen in the company's flagship device HTC One. The ultra-pixel camera is capable of absorbing 300-percent more light than any other high-end camera phone in the industry to give high-quality crisp pictures even during low light environment. On the front side, it sports a pretty descent 2.1-megapixel camera with wide angle lens having HDR (High Dynamic Range) capability.
Another striking feature of Butterfly S is its high capacity Li-Polymer battery with 3200 mAh power which can support up to 29 hours of talk time and an amazing 544 hours back up on standby mode.
According to various reports, HTC is prepping to launch two HTC One variants in coming months. HTC One Mini (code named M4) is expected to make its debut by the end of this month, whereas the big screen 6.0-inch HTC One Max (code named T6) is said to be unveiled in September.
