Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC has reportedly sent invites to media fraternities for an event on 19 June, raising the likelihood that the much-anticipated HTC Butterfly S smartphone would be launched.
According to a report published by the Engadget.com which got the invite from the Taiwanese tech firm, Taiwanese telecom operator Chunghwa Telecom will be unveiling HTC Butterfly S and HTC Desire 600 smartphones at 19 June event.
Like any other company HTC is also silent on its unreleased products, giving a chance to build anticipation well before the launch of the products. While the specifications of HTC Desire 600 are known to everyone, there is not much information on HTC Butterfly S.
It was reported that HTC's new S Butterfly smartphone, which would be released in mid-june, would come with the 5-inch 1080p screen. Other stipulated features are an UltraPixel camera and higher capacity battery than the current HTC version of One.
The second smartphone, which might be released on 19 June, is Desire 600. The dual-SIM (dual-active) smartphone was announced in May 2013 and boasts of 4.5-inch Super LCD2 screen with 540x960 pixel resolutions and powered by 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor. It comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The handset uses Android Jelly Bean platform with HTC Sense 5.0 hosts 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.6-megapixel front-facing snapper. The pricing of the smartphone is yet to be known.
HTC is also rumoured to be launching the smaller version of HTC One, codenamed HTC One mini aka M4. The device, which is expected to be a competitor to Galaxy S4 mini, is likely be unveiled in mid-July. The smaller HTC One has been doing the rounds for some time now.
According to rumours, the device is likely to pack a 4.3-inch HD display with 720p resolution and is expected to be powered by a dual-core processor. Other stipulated features of HTC M4 include 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, Beats Audio, LTE connectivity and 1,700mAh battery removable battery. The device is expected to run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system with Sense 5.
