The long-rumoured second-generation HTC Butterfly is set to be launched only in select Asian markets.
Popular Twitter spy LlabToofeR claims HTC Butterfly 2 (aka B2) will soon be launched in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and other select Asia markets, suggesting that the phone may not set foot in developed markets like Europe and North America. Though there is no mention of India in the list, there is a high probablity of the HTC phone being launched in the subcontinent, like its predecessor last year.
HTC B2 is new Butterfly device, specs are the same as M8. Glossy body. It will be sold only in HK/Taiwan/Japan and some other Asian markets.

The Twitter sensation also revealed that HTC Butterfly 2 will boast specifications almost similar to the company's flagship phone HTC One (M8), sans the metal cover. Instead, it is expected to keep the plastic glossy-finish back-case seen on its predecessor. However, there is still some uncertainty on whether the upcoming phone will boast the dual-camera, seen on the back of HTC One (M8). The alleged HTC Butterfly 2 image posted by @evleaks also fails to ascertain the rear camera feature.

In the picture, we can only see the front side of the phone, which shows two rectangular speaker grills (top & bottom) and a front-camera on the top-right. The design language principle is very identical to its predecessor but the position of the front-camera has been switched to the opposite side.
If the Butterfly 2 does indeed boast dual-camera, HTC One M8 will certainly lose some charm in calling itself the flagship model; hence we just have wait till the company makes an official announcement. Its predecessor made its debut in June, so the second generation device may get launched in a few weeks time.
In related news, HTC is reportedly working on HTC One (M8) Mini (with stripped down features) and plastic-case based model HTC One Ace, with the same identical specifications, including the camera features, seen inside the flagship metal-clad HTC One (M8).
